So, those of you who know Whitley know how much she likes to tell stories. She makes things up for them all the time. She will say things like, "when I was a teenager..." "when I was a mommy..." "when we were kids together...", she has all sorts of things like that. Tonight she was talking about when she was in Daddy's tummy! So I explained that only girls get to have babies in their tummies and how awesome it is that girls get to have the babies. I told them that it is such a special thing that we get to be mommies and they seemed really excited about that idea. I was thinking, what a nice moment to share with my girls talking about motherhood and what a wonderful thing it is. Well, not quite. After thinking about it for a minute Michelle said, "Yes, that means I get to be the boss! That will be awesome!" Whitley says, "Yeah, I love to be boss. I get to be a mommy and have kids and get to be the boss!!!!!! I like being a girl!"
I certainly hope that my daughters aren't the only ones who view motherhood like that! I hope that doesn't reflect poorly on me that they think being mom is all about being boss. That sure gives me something to think about...

I love that they are bossy. I bet Jay likes that. As if he doesn't get told to do things enough, right?
My girls are very particular about their bedtime routine. I think we've added too many things to it too.... Too many things to remember and get yelled at for.
