Day 6 - In Grandma's words

Michelle and Whitley rocking out to Camp Rock

Last weekend Michelle and Whitley had a sleepover at our house. It was a terrific night and wore us out completely, the girls weren't worn out, just Papa and Grammy. We watched Camp Rock and then we watched Camp Rock and then we watched Camp Rock. Michelle and Whitley have all the words and moves down, they could have their own Camp Rock. They put on a show (we have a stage in our living room, most people refer to it as a window seat, but when the girls are over it is "The Stage"). Michelle let me sing with her. She was the girl, Mitchie, and I got to be Shane, the boy. We sang our duet and she said, "Grammy come with me back stage." (Back stage is behind the rocking chair) I went back stage and she gave me the bad news, "I think you better just lip-synch from now on." So she sang my part for me and I lip-synched. Whitley told me to watch the show and practice so that I could sing with them! Needless to say I do not have a career in teenage musicals.
The girls went to church with me and to my Primary. I have to tell you how brave Whitley is. They gave a treat to all of the kids, a candy bar called Fast Break - it has nuts in it. Whitley asked if it had nuts and they said yes and she said no, she could not have it because she is allergic. There were no tears or whining or feeling sorry for herself. She sat in her chair and watched the other kids eat their candy bars and was happy for Michelle that she could eat one. I was so proud of her. That takes a lot of courage to turn down a candy bar when you are 3 almost 4 years old.
Tyler came with his mommy to pick up the girls and he is pretty amazing, he can have a Ping-Pong ball in each hand and throw them at the same time and hit the target every time.
Thanks Michelle and Whitely for the WONDERFUL sleepover.

So cute! Kids say such funny things. Sorry we missed you at the library today. We were going to go, since it's closed on Friday, but decided to be lazy until we had to go today to swim lessons at 11am.
I love the things kids say. Whitley and Michelle are great kids. Tyler too! Elizabeth said that she wants to make friendship bracelets. Is that in your crafty plan? If not, your girls could come over here and learn. I just have to figure out how to teach braiding.....
