Day 7

I am a little behind in updating Jay on our daily activities. On Monday, yesterday, someone came over to start Tyler's evaluation for the developmental center to get his speech therapy started. She did an assessment to determine what areas Tyler needs help with. He scored low in communication, which we knew. He scored in understanding but didn't score anything in verbalization. He scored high in gross motor and fine motor skills, which again we already knew. In one part she asked if he could stand and kick a ball without holding on to something for balance. Then she asked if he could walk carrying a ball. I said that he can walk carrying a ball and kicking a ball at the same time without holding on to something for balance. He's a boy, that's what boys do. He pnly scored in the mid range on the behavior and social area. The two questions he didn't do well on were not his fault. One asked if he could use an open top cup, pick it up, drink from it, and set it down without spilling. I said he probably could if I was dumb enough to give him an open cup!!! The other question was asking if he holds, rocks, feeds, and role plays with baby dolls. He doesn't do that. He thinks the babies either get in the way or are great for throwing. Again, he's a boy, what do you expect. Anyway, after that evaluation we went to get my hair re-permed. Part of it pulled straight right away last week so we redid that. Well, it has been permed twice but that pulled straight again. That was all we did yesterday. We spent some time just hanging around the house, which was nice.
