Kids Race!

Okay, back to the updates! I still haven't finished updating the posts that I've missed. So here goes another one...

This year was the first year that all three Bartlett Jrs were part of the Kids Race. The cross country team has their annual invite the first weekend in October and they do a kids race every year now as part of it. We have so much fun with it! The kids love getting their ribbons.

Most of the runners know the kids and stand along the side cheering for them, which is just the best thing, having Daddy's runners cheer for them by name!! Last year we showed up just after the race started and jumped in half way, which made it so much easier!! This time they actually held up the race for us, which I was really hoping wouldn't happen!! I was perfectly content with jumping in and only having to do part of it!

Michelle and Whitley started out running with Jay. Michelle fell down at some point and was very upset after that. Whitley ended up on Jay's shoulders and Michelle just pouted for a while. Tyler was walking with me and Uncle Matthew. After a little bit I left Tyler and Matthew and tried to catch up with Michelle so she would have someone with her. Let's just say that even with cutting corners, I had a hard time catching up to her. When Jay and Whitley got to the last straight to the finish line he put her down to run in and cross the line. He turned around to see what happened to Michelle and Whitley stopped and waited for Jay so that he didn't have to cross alone!! She is so sweet!! Michelle just walked and pouted her way to the finish line. Tyler was loving walking around with Uncle Matthew and everyone clapping for him!! He didn't realize it was a race but he was content just hanging out and getting a lot of attention!! While the girls waited for Tyler to finish they got out the pom poms (I have the right colors now) and cheered him in! I love that they are his cheerleaders!!
