Michelle had her dance recital a couple weeks ago and she did SO good!! She decided she'd rather do hip hop, which was very surprising because she really doesn't seem like she can pull it off, she's more of a jazz personality! Anyway, she did amazingly well with the dance. We weren't even sure if she would go out on stage. They had the recital at the high school auditorium and she was fearless up there!! She knew the steps better than most kids in the class. I love that the kid (whose mom has her in every possible class and is planning her competitive dance career) had to watch Michelle to know what steps were next!! It made me laugh!
Here is Michelle with her "hip hop pose" in her cute costume. Her dance was called "Wipeout!"

She got flowers after both performances (shows on both Friday and Saturday)! This is Whitley, Michelle, and Tyler with some of Michelle's flowers from Saturday. I don't have a picture of her with her flowers from Friday but if my mom is reading this, maybe she'll email me the pictures she took!

There were 2 kids from Michelle's class who danced in the recital and also some kids that their teachers knows from previous years so she came to cheer them all on!! She even had flowers for Michelle and her classmate! It was SO great that she came! Michelle felt so loved that day!! We are really going to miss Mrs. DeTienne!! Hopefully Whitley and Tyler will get her!
When we got home, I took all of her 4 different flower arrangements and combined them into one and have to say that I think I did a pretty good job!!! They were so beautiful all together!!

This is a picture I took of her makeup, just because it was hard to believe she was wearing bright pink lipstick, blush, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara (only on dress rehearsal, she didn't wear it for either performance)! She, of course, loved it!! Jay on the other hand, was not too happy to see his little girl all done up in makeup like that!! Hopefully she won't be wearing lipstick like that for anything other than recitals!!!

We were all so proud of Michelle for doing such an amazing job with her dance. She had really been having some confidence issues and when she started dance this January, we watched her grow so much! She really started to feel more confident and open up more. We feel so incredibly grateful that she has been able to dance!! We can't wait for the next recital!

Way to go Michelle! I'm sure you did awesome. Maybe you could show me some of your dance moves when we come visit?
Michelle you were terrific.. The other kids would have been lost if they didn't have you to follow. You looked pretty cute too!
